Discover our purposeYouth Road Safety Education (YRSE) is a UK not-for-profit working to protect young lives through education. Our DriverReady and E-Mobility Education programmes give young people the knowledge, practical strategies and plans to make safer decisions as passengers, riders and future drivers.
Taught over multiple lessons by their own teachers, before they face these situations on their own.

Give students the facts and reasons, then help them reach their own conclusions and make plans for how they will respond in real situations.
Build learning over time
Use structured lessons, discussion and reinforcement over several weeks, giving young people time to reflect, develop their thinking and make plans they can use.
YRSE was established to bring DriverReady to UK schools and make it relevant to the roads, laws, curriculum and decisions young people face here.
DriverReady is the English adaptation of a programme developed by BRAKE Australia and licensed to Youth Road Safety Education. Its established Australian classroom experience provides a strong foundation. YRSE's role is to build on that foundation for UK schools.
The programme is aligned for England, using English law, roads, licensing, curriculum context and official data. It can also be customised for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, as well as the priorities of individual local authority areas.
